“I commend the World Student Environmental Summit for thinking outside the box to provide a platform for the most important stakeholders in climate change; the youth, to make their voices heard. Having participated in the previous summit, I saw the forum successfully contribute to developing solutions to climate change while moulding student skills and promoting local initiatives. Tackling global environmental issues brought about as a result of unsustainable urbanization, industrialization and agriculture has become essential to every nation’s economic growth and ecoconservation.

The evidence is now overwhelming that the world would benefit greatly from early action, and that delay would only lead to costs in economic and human terms that would become progressively high. Environmental vulnerabilities brought about as a result of climate change will require people who have the benefit of higher education and the exuberance of youth to collectively act upon ideas brought about as a result of intelligent discussion and innovative thinking.

I’m particularly impressed with the global outreach of WSES and the large number of student representatives from across the world. This promises to be an effective forum for spreading awareness and serving as a stimulant for change that benefits both local and global communities.”
