I did say, that the next blog post will be about Germany, but there are more developments than I thought.
First of all, Nikolas (in charge of Biochar and the education block), wants to announce some good news:
I’m really looking forward to our workshops on Education on September 25!
For our German friends:
Auf unserem Profil bei den BNE – Aktionstagen findet ihr nähere Informationen zu den öffentlichen Veranstaltungen in den kommenden Wochen!
best,
Nikolas”
Thanks for your work
and we hope to see many people coming to the public opening and closing ceremony as well as the Biochar presentation.
But that’s not all …
On the last weekend, our Facebook Fanpage received the 100th Fan!
(For the ones without access to Facebook and Twitter: we are showing our tweets on the newly rewritten Community-page also. Unfortunately we can’t extract all of the Facebok Fanpage movements the same way right now.)
But there is also some work…
And so we are announcing the release of the third assignment sheet due August 30.
In this assignment, we want you to watch a short movie “The Story of Stuff”, introduce to some of you the idea of the “Ecological Footprint” and ask you to choose a topic out of two to write an essay about.
The “Ecological Footprint” assignment refers to quite big article (14,8 MB), by the Global Footprint Network, which may be a bit too much for some people to download.
Since the copyright allowed us to distribute the file too, we uploaded the article to a slide show page, where you can flip through the document without actually downloading the whole first. So you can either read it on issuu.com/2010wses or scroll to the bottom of this blog entry and read it here.
This blog post ends with the usual reminder:
Deadlines
Don’t forget the deadline for the group choosing! The next assignment sheet may be group specific, so we will build the groups right after the 15th of August.
There are already 40 Participants on this website, of whom 33 have already voted, so only 40 + 7 are left.
Every one, who didn’t choose a group until the 15th of August will get sorted into a random group. This may or may not be ok for you, but we don’t intend to do many manual corrections.
If you can’t vote for your preferred group due to whatever reason that may be, then please contact support[ät]2010wses.org .
